The Selective Review is conducted every spring and provides information on compliance with the California School Immunization Law. Local health department staff visited 24 randomly selected schools during the months of February - May, interviewed staff and assessed each student’s California School Immunization Record (Blue Card). The data collected during the a Resultsssessment is used to validate the annual Fall Immunization Assessment report submitted by schools to the State of California Department of Health Services Immunization Branch. The visits also provided an opportunity to educate school staff regarding the requirements and to emphasize the importance of following up on students who are missing immunizations.
