Schools & Child Care Providers

Family Child Care Homes

This page is dedicated to the needs of Family Child Care Homes (people licensed by the State to care for children in their homes). Here you'll find information, tools and resources for child care immunization requirements.

For information about the law, which went into effect Jan. 1, 2016, please visit the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) ShotsforSchool website.

to see a sample letter schools can use to inform parents about the new law. You may wish to adapt it for your use.

Additional information from CDPH about the implementation of the law is expected in the coming months.

On Sept. 1, 2016, a law took effect in California which requires that people employed or volunteering at a day care center or day care home must be immunized against influenza, pertussis and measles. For more information, please visit this page on the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) ShotsforSchool website.

Family Child Care Providers Can Get Blue Card Training

It is important that all child care providers understand California Immunization Law, why the law exists, and how the law affects you and your business. For more information and to request training on the requirements, please contact:
